Tweaking with Timing of the Injection Pump
Whenever you’re trying to troubleshoot or tweak with timing of the injection pump, you should be really careful, otherwise things could get messy.
In case you’re not getting fuel, the injection point has passed. There’s 3 degree stretch between camshaft & crankshaft, which decrease to a good deal between IP and crankshaft.
IP timing should be done to the correct crankshaft timing, which is about 23-25 degrees before TDC of the compression stroke of 1st cylinder.

Another thing to remember is that the bracket at vacuum shut-off valve supports IP, but if it’s not loosened, it also prevents movement of the IP at the same time.
